*Counts on her fingers then gives up*
I promise that it will not take 6 months (give or take) for another layout again.
But yes, I finally dragged myself away from PWI1 long enough to actually be productive. I did change a few things from the screenshot a while back (as I always do). I’m also 99.99999% sure that I’m going to find something wrong and try to figure out why the hell it isn’t working. But I am loving this color scheme. Totally different from what I do. The browns, that is.
Since it is about 4am, I should be going. Maybe I’ll think of a story that surrounds leads for insurance while I sleep. Did you know that a couple of my writing pieces were inspired by dreams? In that case, I should write a horror play where someone gets killed in some gruesome way.2
Here’s a screenshot to leave ya with.
…Even if you’re not feeling it, force that ass to write.
I lost my writing mojo. The last time this happened, it lasted 3 years. I tried to create an impromptu shorty surrounded around ancestry dna, but it wouldn’t work. I’m pretty sure that if it came up a few months back, I would have been able to. Argh.
Anyway, the rain finally ended, and I got some early blooming flower photos. But this weather is freaking bipolar. How else would it be 80 degrees one day, then two days later, 40 degrees colder? Ugh.
And I promised you a new layout, and switching things around to make them work is proving to be hard, but it’s gonna happen.

I think this year I might spend a lot of time learning stuff.
I have way too much time on my hands and until I find someone who will hire me despite my seemingly undesirable circumstances1, I need to do something to keep sane. Two of the main stuff I’m trying to learn are:
PHP: I’m decent when it comes to PHP. I understand bits and pieces. I am by no means a PHP Ninja, and nor do I plan to strive to be one. But I would like to become more versed in it because I’d like to learn how to create my own CMS eventually. I’d say by the end of the year, but it’s most likely going to take a little longer thanks to my attention span. But it’s been a bit of an interest of mine.
Crocheting: My mom actually got me into this when I was younger. She tried to teach me the stitches and the like. Unfortunately, it’s not very easy to teach something like crocheting to a lefty when you yourself is a righty, which is a huge problem. I recently got back into it last year. I know how to do the chain stitch left-handed, but while someone else tried to teach me a more advanced stitch, it failed due to the teacher being right-handed. So I kinda neglected it again. Then after seeing a few knitting pieces, I thought that I should pick crocheting up again. I even joined Ravelry, so I want to put that account to use by the middle of the year.
The book has right-handed and left-handed points of view, so it should be easier this time around. Once I get this down, I might move on to knitting.
There are more things that I already know, but I want to do further.
So there are plenty of things that I’m going to learn, or enhance my knowledge on. It should keep my brain on its non-existent toes, and my mental health well enough, since seasonal depression isn’t going away until March.
What do you think you want to learn this year?
- Not a lot of work experience, loads of skills, but no credentials to back it up. Nice combination! ↩
I used to sell Wilmington, NC real estate up until a couple of years ago. Real estate was my life; it was all I did, all I knew for 25 years. This would have been the year where I would have retired if I wasn’t sued for everything I had.
Here’s what happened. I was workng with a couple who had three children and two dogs. They seemed nice enough, and the children were just precious. They weren’t asking for much; they just wanted a house in which they can possibly expand in if they wanted to have one more child. I showed them this beautiful place–6 bedrooms, 2.5 baths, and a beautiful backyard for the pets and children. It came with a hefty price tag, but they assured me that they can afford it, and they gave me cash up front.
To make a long story short, I get an angry phone call from the woman. She yelled at me for not telling me that the house was meant to be condemned due to dangerous mold and a terrible termite infestation. To tell you the truth, I didn’t either. I checked out the house thoroughly to see if there were any signs of infestation or mold or anything to make the place uninhabitable. Nothing. Of course, she didn’t believe me, so the family sued me and here I am, telling this story. So what have I been doing?
Let’s just say that it’s not only women who can be crazy cat people. I breed them now. I got 50 of them. Don’t worry, they’re well taken care of. But the darn things scratched up all of my furniture. The chair I’m sitting on is hanging on by a piece of wood. If I were to lean too hard on it, I’ll–
AHHHH!
Fall. Ouch.
