I hate shopping.

Yes, I have said it time and time again. If it’s not for electronics or food, I ain’t going on my own. I will help you pick out plasma tvs, but I’ll be damned if I sit in a store and watch you decide what perfume you want for your boyfriend or what color dress you should get. Can’t decide on what video game to get? Okay, I can help there. What size shoes should you get? You’re on your own there. And let’s not go there with gardening tools.

No.

With that being said, happy early holidays, all! What is your dream present?

Nat hates shopping. How do you get her to do it? Go to Target, and take her to the stationery section.

This is my latest buy. First it was the brown book with the tree branches. I fell in love with it. Then I saw the one with the kitten. Naturally, I fall in love with it. Come on, you’re talking to a future cat breeder. Then Target had a special where 5 1-subject notebooks were for 50 cents. This is rare. Just last week, I bought one that was a buck and change. I spent about $10 on notebooks alone. Why so much? The tree branch book was $5 by itself. I couldn’t leave it alone. That would be a poetry book.

Mind you, I have books up the yin yang as it is.

(And these books are on top of a storage bin that contains books; I have another storage bin with loads of books under my bed.)

I haven’t been to a Target in a year and a half. It had nothing to do with me having a meltdown while working there. I just never got around to going. My sister was going there for school supplies for my nephews, so we all piled up in her van, and went. I wasn’t expecting to buy anything. But they took me to stationery. Whenever I go to a stationery store or section, I get away. I had my best friend drag me away from the 99-cent store just in case I end up buying the whole damn place.

It’s not too often that I buy anything. Remember, I hate shopping, especially for clothes. However, my impulsiveness shows when I’m depressed about something. Yeah, that sounds just right. Something’s bothering me. If you are a friend on my Livejournal, then you know exactly what’s happening. Another impulse buy:

Although, I don’t know if I’d consider it an impulse buy, because it was planned after reading about it on this site. However, it wasn’t a 1-month notice thing, it was more like “in three days I’m going to get it.” Some people usually buy these things and never use them, but the Bananagrams game indeed made my nights less depressing, and the books are definitely getting some use. It’s giving me more reason to start on those plays that I have the ideas for, but never started writing; finish the plays I already started; and rewrite some where either the book is torn up from the floor up, or needs some overhauling. So yeah, I guess I am an impulsive buyer while in depressive mode. But at least I don’t have to worry about running out of books!

Since I lost a mess of weight, I’ve found myself with practically no summer clothes. Most of my summer clothes from last year are either too big or getting too big. Unfortunately, even though I’ve lost all this weight, I’m still plus-size, and I still have to go into plus size clothing stores to get my clothes. Have any of you walked into one of those lately? Some of the prices for clothes are ridiculous. I can get one outfit for $70+, whereas some people can squeeze out three. Since the prices are astronomical for someone who has little income, I’m always looking for a best buy. I haven’t found it yet. Even the clearance rack isn’t really a clearance sale in that case. And that’s if I can even find anything on said rack that is my size.

No wonder I hate shopping for clothes.
