So, I was supposed to do this entry sometime last week. But I wasn’t entirely sure how to word it. I’m having a hard time wording a lot of things, whether it be about the lack of kids that came to my door for Halloween, or my failed attempt on finding acne treatment.

But anyway, today would be the start of NaNo. As you may (or may not if you haven’t been frequenting here) know, I started Mirrored Worlds last year. I got to about 13k words before I went through the Second-Week Slump. Sadly, since last year, I haven’t done much to it, which makes me sad, since I actually enjoyed writing it, and I had great ideas for it.

So this year, I was a bit apprehensive about doing it. I mean, would I be able to actually fork over 50,000 words in a month? Or would it become the same like all my other projects that have been put on the backburner? I had a good idea for this year too; another fantasy theme, surrounded by the idea of a fallen harpy or sommat. Since then the idea’s gotten foggy.

So instead of working on another project that would go on the backburner never to be found again, I thought about digging up Mirrored Worlds and at least try to write something to it every day this month. Even if it’s for like 10 minutes a day (yay, short attention spans!), something is better than nothing, right?

I’ll let you know in about a week.

I love how a heartfelt post turns into something that has amused the hell out of me. Keep the laughs coming guys! Love you both!

Anyway, I just realized that NaNo coming up soon. Okay, two months, but still. It’s already September; soon we’ll be singing holiday songs and some of us will be cursing the snow. Then after the holidays are done, some will be looking into the hottest weight loss product in January. Oh, how fast the time flies.

But yeah, I was considering participating in NaNo this year as well. But I feared that it would end up like my first idea, which I haven’t touched in so long. Something that I should do, because I liked the idea, I just went through that second-week curse, and I never recovered. I don’t know yet, but I have two months to come up with a good storyline. Or at least one that won’t make me lose focus after the second week.

I need to have patience.

As I’m trying to get through Mirrored Worlds, I started to do some deep character development. What do I mean by this? Paint a real picture of how Mikhail and Ivy look like, then move on to Ava and Nicolai. What other way to do this than to play The Sims 2? Of course, I had to make it so that, although in the novel they’re “mirrored versions of each other”, they were easily told apart. This is pretty image heavy, so after the first image, I’ll cut it.

This is Mikhail, our main character. It’s not easy to tell, but he has an eyebrow piercing on his right eyebrow, and an earring in his left ear. That plays a role, believe it or not.

Mirrored Worlds in Sim Form, the product of my boredom and love for Sims 2.

Yes, this was me being bored as hell. But it helped me a bit in getting inspired to write more, as weird as the idea seems. I actually did the same thing with Jora and Jericho. I ended up deleting that hood, but I still have their shots floating around somewhere. I might dig those up out of hiding.

It sucks. I’m usually bustling with ideas, whether it be for blogs, or plays, or whatever. Now I have one idea for a play lodged in the back of my head before I get Mirrored Worlds at least half way done, and at least one of my older plays (much older plays) out of the way. I always have a creative twist on even my paid posts, but I am fresh out of Impromptu Shorties about auto insurance online. I guess it shall pass, but it’s still a bit annoying.

I haven’t touched Mirrored Worlds since the middle of November. I was doing so well for NaNo and then it all went kaput. So I’m touching it again, due to being inspired by Catherine. By next month (I’d spread it too thin if I said the end of this year), I think I should be at 25,000. I have to give my brain some wiggle room.

But dammit, I want to finish this!
