I remember back in the day1 when a whole bunch of web 2.0-oriented sites popped up. You know, the minimalistic2 designs, the whole semantics thing, search engine optimization, that kind of stuff. For those who know me, they’d know that I thrive on creativity (which is killing me since I need a new layout but I can’t think of something really good), and I could do the whole proper coding thing and the whole minimalistic (but not boring) layout. The only thing that I never figured out was the whole SEO thing. Apparently, you can look up for the best seo software to help you in that department. Doubt it worth it though; I figure that I’ll learn eventually.
Maybe it’s because I’ve been out of that loop for quite a while, but I’m not seeing the whole web 2.0 craze as much anymore. Does it still exist?
- Note I said “laptop”; due to space restrictions, I can’t have a desktop ↩
When I got my first computer in 2001, I was still a complete noob with it. I downloaded anything and everything. Anything that piqued my interest, it was on my computer. Little did I know what baddies were bundled with them. I also had no clue about any antivirus software. Yes, I was noob, so sue me. So when it finally kicked the bucket last year, I wondered why it lasted as long as it did with all the worms I had.
Now with my laptop, I decided that I was gonna take all precautions. Sometimes I would download something without looking, but luckily I have great software that would detect that really quickly. So any worms that want to eat me alive won’t do it that easily.
…Speaking of, I need to scan my computer!
I’ve only seen netbooks on TV. They look really cute, and appears to be even more convenient in terms of portability. But who exactly were netbooks made for? It’s clearly not for the heavy gamer, I know that much (which would count me out almost immediately). I’m sure those suit-wearing folks would get a kick out of using one.
Better question: if they did more to the netbook, like added more RAM capacity or hard drive space–could it replace a laptop?
How many of you have one of those things?
