Happy New Year! Wait…

This is the second new year that I’ve had this site. Holy crap. 2008 has gone way too quickly. If you’ve been stalking following my blog for the past 2.9 years, then you know that I’m highly indifferent about the new year. It hasn’t changed this year either. What’s the hoo-haa? Yes, we survived another year, but then we might survive 2009 again, and it will be the same old shit.

I always hope that shit finally goes my way in the new year. Fuck hoping; it better. I’m staring right at you, economy. We don’t want to live in fear of being piled up to our necks in bills. We don’t want to fear losing our homes because we got laid off a few months prior and can’t find another job (even retail jobs are a bit scarce). So this economy better get the shit straight for not just us Americans, but for the world. That’s right, motherfucker.

Here’s hoping that it all gets straightened out. We have less than a month before Obama officially swears in. I swear it, you’d think he was already in office with all of the press conferences he’s done so far. Most likely, I’ll be blogging again with my first annual asking podium (inspired by Amanda). But in case I get dragged out, drunk and fucked up on Wednesday, I leave you with this.

Something ain't right.

Gas prices are seriously dropping! Hell yeah. Something ain’t right. Watch the shit jump up to $10 a gallon by February.

In Loving Memory of Your Cash…

Ouch!

Ouch! And this is exactly why I take public transportation, folks. You want to hear something else? This isn’t the most expensive I’ve seen so far either. About 25 minutes down from this one, they were selling gas for $4.09 a gallon. That’s more than a $4 MetroCard for us New Yorkers, which would take us to and from where we gotta go (one way is $2). Obviously, you can’t buy only a gallon of gas (well, you can, but why would you?) , so it’s basically cheaper to take mass transit, which is easy if you live in a big city like NYC. My sister works in Westchester and agrees; it’s going to still cost her a pretty penny to take public transportation (over $200 a month I think), but that beats over $500 a month for gas, toll, and parking. She drives everywhere and for her to say that (seriously, she’s never taken a bus in years), you know it’s that’s saying something.

I’d get my license just to get it, but chyeah, I need to eat, I need to buy drawers…how do they expect people to live when things are going up when the salaries aren’t?

So I sympathize with all those with small cars around the world.1 I wish you luck with the astronomical gas prices. It’s Go Green Week–if you could, just walk it out.

1Those with SUV’s don’t get much love because you should know that that’s a big old gas guzzler. :) I’m messing with you, I sympathize with you too.

Hoi Thar.

Crestfallen is the 3-year-old site of a sarcastic 20-something natural-born New Yorker who goes by the name Nat Marie most days, but answers to many other things, including Shadow, Chickenhead, and "Hey Bitch!". She has a love for writing, performing arts, and cats (albeit allergic to them). You will find love, life, and a lot of writing and sarcasm sprinkled in. Enjoy.
