My nephews just recently moved up to NY from New Jersey a few months ago. They have a car, and they really wanted to transfer their car insurance up here. The moment they found out how much it costs to do so, they changed their mind, and kept the Jersey insurance. Apparently, you can get cheap auto insurance in at least Jersey and Maryland. If they went along with it, they’d be paying $300-$400 more than what they paying in Jersey. Please keep in mind that these are 19-year-old kids going to college with most of their income coming from work-study. They wouldn’t be able to afford it. That’s crazy!

But then again, it doesn’t surprise me. When it comes to money, NYC will siphon every cent out of you some way or another. You don’t even have to drive. They’re proposing a fare hike for public transportation. -_-

I’m clearly a city girl. I’ve never been hiking, rockclimbing, camping, or skiing. I don’t really have to go too far for it (there’s hardly any snow in the city itself), but it was never an interest of mine. This stems not from the city girl I am, but the girly girl in me. I think that it would be cool to get on a snowmobile though. But at the same time, I’m paranoid, because what if the snowmobile parts break down and I fall flat on my face in 80 inches of snow?

Ouch?

I will admit, I’ll try it once. But I wouldn’t go crazy with the balls and some Titleist golf items either. Besides, it’d be one time–I can buy more stationery with that dough!

There is a detached garage with an upstairs loft. Perfect for those who have teens who want their own space (and doesn’t mind the stench of gasoline). A tennis court, a basketball court, an indoor pool, an outdoor pool. All of this worth $10.5 million.

An elder woman recently lost her husband. She was under the impression that her husband had term life insurance and it will cover the funeral charges and the like. She was in for the shock of her life when she found out that her husband didn’t sign up, even though she told him to do it 20 years earlier. His answer to her question was always “I’ll be here for a long time!” “Don’t worry about it!” “Why don’t you get insurance?”

In other words, he evaded her questions with insufficiant answers. One day he said “all right, I’ll do it”, and she left him alone. That was a huge mistake because 20 years went by and he didn’t sign up. He dies and his wife and family has a laundry list of things that need to be paid and they have no idea how it’s going to be paid.

This is the story that is told all too often. It’s like “ahh, don’t worry!” would be their answer to getting life insurance. Then when they’re dead and gone, the burden’s all on their family. Don’t let this be you.
