My nephews just recently moved up to NY from New Jersey a few months ago. They have a car, and they really wanted to transfer their car insurance up here. The moment they found out how much it costs to do so, they changed their mind, and kept the Jersey insurance. Apparently, you can get cheap auto insurance in at least Jersey and Maryland. If they went along with it, they’d be paying $300-$400 more than what they paying in Jersey. Please keep in mind that these are 19-year-old kids going to college with most of their income coming from work-study. They wouldn’t be able to afford it. That’s crazy!
But then again, it doesn’t surprise me. When it comes to money, NYC will siphon every cent out of you some way or another. You don’t even have to drive. They’re proposing a fare hike for public transportation. -_-
I’m clearly a city girl. I’ve never been hiking, rockclimbing, camping, or skiing. I don’t really have to go too far for it (there’s hardly any snow in the city itself), but it was never an interest of mine. This stems not from the city girl I am, but the girly girl in me. I think that it would be cool to get on a snowmobile though. But at the same time, I’m paranoid, because what if the snowmobile parts break down and I fall flat on my face in 80 inches of snow?
Ouch?
I’ve only known one person who said that he liked golf. He was also about 6’5″, so when I heard that, it just shattered my misconception about him having an interest in basketball (which he didn’t). Since then, I haven’t met someone who even gave me an inkling of an interest.
I will admit, I’ll try it once. But I wouldn’t go crazy with the balls and some Titleist golf items either. Besides, it’d be one time–I can buy more stationery with that dough!
A 5-acre home with a spacious backyard, 10 bedrooms, 5.5 bathrooms, two kitchens and a living room with home theater seating. There is a detached garage with an upstairs loft. Perfect for those who have teens who want their own space (and doesn’t mind the stench of gasoline). A tennis court, a basketball court, an indoor pool, an outdoor pool. All of this worth $10.5 million.
They forgot to mention the big termite infestation.
