My love for music started young. I was about 2 when I started belting songs out. A few years after, my interest waned. Not sure why it did, but when I turned 9, I started to enjoy it more, and even started to “write lyrics” to video game music (a fact that my fiance doesn’t know about). It didn’t make sense, but I was able to appreciate music more. It wasn’t until I was about 12 when I dabbled into actually playing music on an instrument. My sister had a keyboard that she used to play on, but eventually lost interest in it, so she gave it to me.
As far as I know, that keyboard is still working and gets played by my niece.
I used to be bullied in school. There were only two things (eventually three) that kept me at ease to get me through those hard times, music and video games (eventually writing as well). If I’m feeling stressed out to this day, I turn to music and video games to keep me calm.
My daughter just turned 2, and I see her interest in music. She LOVES to sing, and if one day she asks me for an instrument or a mpk mini to work with, I wouldn’t be opposed to the idea. It’d be expensive, but an investment that the both of us can appreciate.
