Open Ended Question: What do you look for?

I live in New York. While having a car is great if I want to just drive away for a few hours¹, when you’re in an area where public transportation is easily accessible, and for the most part cheaper, there is no huge need for it. Besides, have you ever tried getting parking in Manhattan? You just can’t do it.

With that being said, I’ve never had to look into a auto insurance quote. Not for a while anyway. But how about you? Are you one to shop around for auto insurance or pretty much go with your first choice? How long does it take before you make a decision?
