Wearing glasses doesn’t equal nerd.
Here’s some more useless info for you about me–I had to wear eyeglasses ever since I was eight years old, but I never did. Why? Because I always equated glasses with nerd-ism, and when I was that age, I was already ridiculed for my weight. I didn’t want to be the fat nerdy outcast. It wasn’t until just recently that I started to actually wear my glasses on a regular basis. I guess it’s because now I can’t really see far away without them, so if I don’t wear them, I’m kind of useless when it comes to reading far away. It’s also because I found a frame that I’m in love with. It ran me about $300, but I fell in love with it the moment I saw it. If that was enough to get me to wear them all the time, then why not?
Case in point: wearing glasses doesn’t equal nerd. I’m far from that. I told the dahling that he’s dating a reincarnated stereotypical blonde.1
- Disclaimer: I’m black. There’s no possible way that I was a reincarnated blonde, if there ever was a such thing as reincarnation. ↩
