Why can’t I live with technoliterate people?
My mom somehow screwed up her TV today. She just got digital cable after using her old cable box for about 15 years. She would have used it for longer if half the channels didn’t go digital. I think the last straw was when she found out that QVC was being switched to digital TV soon. Anyway, when she first got it, she couldn’t work the damn remote. Something as simple as the remote. What?! Press the buttons, mommy.
So today. My niece comes into my room and says “Um…auntie…the TV’s not working.” What? What do you mean the TV’s not working?! So I go into my mom’s room, and apparently, they have it on On Demand and they can’t get it off. Since I’m 24/7 Technical Support, even though I have never seen that remote more than all of one time. I have no clue what I pressed, but I get it off on my own. They asked me what did I press, and I told them…”I don’t know”.
Some people should not work electronics at all.
