I seriously ran out of titles.
I’ve been meaning to blog for awhile, but I was swamped with a lot of stuff for P739. Some questions:
1. How often do you get sick with a cold? The flu? Something else?
2. Are you the sort of person who goes to work or school no matter how sick you are or are you willing to stay at home when it gets bad?
3. How do you like to treat a cold? What remedies do you like and why?
4. What do you do to keep from getting sick in the winter?
5. What is your favorite thing to do when you stay home from work or school?
From Five on Friday
1) I get a cold maybe once or twice a year. I have more allergy attacks than I have colds. Strange how that one works out. The flu is a rarity. I had it last year, but that was because I went and had the flu shot. Usually if I’m sick, it’s usually with a headache, or an emotional draining, such as one that I’m going through now.
2)Depending on the severity of the illness, I either brave it or go home. I have nasty migraines, ones that cause me to be very sensitive to light and sound especially in my left eye and ear. If I wake up with it, I’m going back to sleep. If it happens while I’m out, I’ll get some Excedrin and brave it. If all else fails, I leave.
3) I treat a cold by staying my ass in bed. Point blank. End of discussion. That’s the best remedy.
4) That’s something that’s not really controllable. You can have on 50 layers of clothing, and you can still get sick. You can wash your hands and use Purel all you want, and still get sick. You can’t really quarantine yourself from people unless they’re really sick (and you can tell how that is). I still do the “wear extra layers” and “wash your hands” thing, but really, it’s only to slow the process of getting sick; not completely eliminate it.
5) One word. Sleep. End of story. And maybe playing video games if I feel up to it.
This site puts out writing prompts every week. I go through it and see which one interests me. Look what I found:
…in honor of Groundhog’s Day, here are some fiction prompts that involve a little participation from you. Your duty is to grab a coin and assign option one to head and option two to tail. The fate of your character depends on the outcome of the coin toss.
Then 10 scenarios are listed. I was torn between two, then I ended up opting for this one.
3. A character is given a chance to go back in time and stop a terrible dictator from ruining the world. Do they a) go back and assassinate the dictator or b) try to change a pivotal point in the dictator’s life that made them they way they are?
I can do something with this one. Yes. I feel a new short story coming! That’s coming up soon, trust me.
Oh, for the record, I flipped tails, which was the latter scenario.
