Are you afraid of the dark?

January 16th, 2008 at 08:35 pm

As posted on Wet Wednesday:

1) Do you find blackouts scary, romantic, or something else?

2) If romantic, what did you do to take advantage of the situation (e.g., make dinner in candlelight)?

3) Have you ever used a blackout as a excuse/pickup line to get someone in the sack?

4) If so, did you go for the full blackout effect or did you light candles (or some other light source)?

1) I will be the first to say that when the blackout happened over here in 2003, I was scared shitless before it got dark. I was hoping that the lights would come back in a few hours. You know, before it got dark. I didn’t get light for about 30 hours. My (then) boyfriend got his back 6am the next morning. But then again, he did live in the Upper West Side. They couldn’t let the Godiva chocolates melt. I’m deathly afraid of the dark. Not only that, but I also have a fear of lit candles. Oh, and quiet does no better. Yes, I’m a pussy, and needless to say I had a very miserable night.

2) This was in no way romantic.

3) No, because I’m too petrified to even think about sex.

4) My mom lit candles all over the place. My nightmare in stereo, folks. I got no sleep. My mom was like “oh, hey, put one in your room”. I said “hell no!” But I reluctantly broke down and put one in my room, under the condition that it was in a very large vase. Still didn’t sleep, so it was futile either way.

In other news, because it seems like I am answering a lot of questions from memes and stuff…it’s been uneventful. That is all.

Hoi Thar.

Crestfallen is the 3.5-year-old site of a sarcastic 20-something natural-born New Yorker/California implant who goes by the name Nat Marie most days, but answers to many other things, including Shadow, Chickenhead, and "Hey Bitch!". She has a love for writing, performing arts, and cats (albeit allergic to them). You will find love, life, and a lot of writing and sarcasm sprinkled in. Enjoy.
