The answer to my lit candle fear problems.

November 18th, 2007 at 03:58 pm

I just told my mom that there’s a website dedicated something called a LED flameless candle. We own a few flameless candles ourselves before we found the site, so we have experience with them. I will be the first to admit that I am deathly afraid of lit candles. When I say “deathly afraid”, I mean I cannot be in the same room as one–I will blow it out as soon as I see it. A few years ago, we had a blackout for a day and a half, and since I’m afraid of the dark as well (yes, admitting that too), it was either get a lit candle and a tall vase, or basically don’t sleep. I was well off not going to bed since I woke up every half hour to watch the candle.

Now that flameless candles were invented, in case another blackout happens, I needn’t worry. The candles are basically flickering LED lights (which last pretty much forever by the way) that run on batteries. So you can have them in the bathroom, in the bedroom, in the kitchen…anywhere you want! There are candles, such as this lavender candle, that changes color. Since I love the color lavender, this is perfect for me. Also, with the holidays coming up, why not accent your house with them? You’ll save quite a bit of electricity using some Christmas candles.

Flameless candles are popping up all over the place these days, mostly because of the safety, the convenience, and the beauty that they emote. I think this is one of the best inventions since sliced bread.

Hoi Thar.

Crestfallen is the 3.5-year-old site of a sarcastic 20-something natural-born New Yorker/California implant who goes by the name Nat Marie most days, but answers to many other things, including Shadow, Chickenhead, and "Hey Bitch!". She has a love for writing, performing arts, and cats (albeit allergic to them). You will find love, life, and a lot of writing and sarcasm sprinkled in. Enjoy.
