Living in the Two.

September 08th, 2007 at 01:20 pm

I could be living in the 2% of America.

Taking this self improvement test made me wonder about a few things in all aspects in my life. A few things rather surprised me about my results.

Risk is not always a matter of rolling the dice, and in this case, our goal is to measure one’s willingness to step out of the “comfort zone.” Success often requires change, and the road is often paved with new challenges that defy complacency.

Unfortunately, based on your responses, it would seem as if complacency and/or fear have paralyzed you from effectively making necessary changes in your life. You may want to remember that improvement requires change, and although it can be uncomfortable, it is sometimes necessary. Dare to take a chance. Try something new. Success is just a few steps away.

All right, I admit it, I’m a scaredy cat. This goes way back when I was laughed at for even trying to do what I love to do. I was a lot worse, but I can be a lot better.

“You are what you think about,” so the saying goes, and it is no surprise that happy people are, well, just happier. This category of optimism includes both internal and external sources of positive affirmation (i.e., self-esteem, confidence, self-image, spiritual acuity, etc.).

While you’d prefer to not think of yourself as a melancholy person, you have to admit that you are prone to bouts of depression and loneliness. Your life just isn’t where you’d like it to be and you’re not sure exactly how to make that move.

It’s like a chain reaction. I know what to do, but I’m too chicken to do it, and because I’m too chicken to do it, I miss out, and because I miss out, I go into depression and withdrawal mode.

Relationships are pivotal to overall success, and that not only includes personal relationships, but also the ability to deal with people. Negotiating. Selling. Public speaking. Regardless of your trade, these factors are all necessary for ultimate success.

Face it, you’re just not an extrovert, and depending on your career track, that could be a problem. While you do enjoy a certain amount of interaction with people, you’re most comfortable in small groups or one-on-one.

Despite popular belief, I am not the most extroverted person in the world. In fact, if you don’t know me, then you’re going to find that it’s hard to talk to me. And if you’re of the “attractive male” population, then you stand very little chance. Once again, a lot worse when I was younger, but with my interest in the performing arts, where you can’t exactly afford to be shy, I have a problem.

Taking this test has opened up a door to who I really am. I was dead wrong about my own self, and you’ll find when you take this self improvement test yourself that you will find things about yourself that you wouldn’t even think about. If I decide to take these topics into consideration while on my way to self-finding, I will be able to Live in the Two.

Being in the top 2% of America means having the income to not have to worry about wondering where the next day’s dinner is coming from, and will have enough to maintain it for years to come, being healthy physically, mentally, and spiritually, and being passionate in life. But it takes lots of time to learn and perfect these skills. But you would have to want to do them.

I want you to go to this site and take the test. This way, you can see what you may need to improve to begin living in the top 2%. And I actually had fun taking it as well. You’ll enjoy it.

Hoi Thar.

Crestfallen is the 3.5-year-old site of a sarcastic 20-something natural-born New Yorker/California implant who goes by the name Nat Marie most days, but answers to many other things, including Shadow, Chickenhead, and "Hey Bitch!". She has a love for writing, performing arts, and cats (albeit allergic to them). You will find love, life, and a lot of writing and sarcasm sprinkled in. Enjoy.
