Six Weird Things That You Don’t Care To Know

June 16th, 2007 at 08:45 pm

A few days ago, I got a blog to comment on from Despair and they did this tag from someone saying what are the six weirdest things that they do. I figured, “hey, why don’t I do this myself?” I mean, I’m always looking for something to blog on. Perfect opportunity, no?

1) Messy Room?
This is very strange about me. It doesn’t mean that it’s kept dirty for months and months (it’s actually not dirty at all). It just means that a little bit of chaos makes me find things easier. If I need to find a certain book, I can just go to that place and find it easily. I have a horrible memory, so if I do extensive cleaning and put things where they’re normally aren’t, I will never find it.

2) Breaking out in random song?
I could be typing out something on Crestfallen, or even talking to friends, I just break out in the most random song ever. Sometimes it can be a real song (I’ve broken into “Heavenly Star” by Genki Rockets several times), and other times it can be improvisational songs (that makes absolutely no sense 98% of the time). Hm. No wonder people tell me to audition for American Idol.

3) The “Noon Rule”?
This is probably the strangest thing about me. My everyday life revolves a list of rituals that I call the “Noon Rule”. It is called so because these are things that are not to be done or can be done after 12 noon. For example:

-Soda cannot be drunk before 12 noon (this was broken several times in high school).
-If I take a shower after 12 noon, I don’t have to take another one (unless it’s really hot and sticky, then the noon rule for this does not apply).

It’s almost OCD-esque, but it’s not really.

4) No Books Excite Me?
I know that at least 99% of the world has at least one book that keeps their attention for more than 10 minutes at a time. Unfortunately, I’m not part of that 99%. It seems to me that ever since I was younger, I find that no book of any genre could hold my attention for more than 10 minutes. I fall asleep after 10 minutes. But then again, my short attention span doesn’t only apply to reading–it applies to anything. Even typing this up my attention strays after 5-10 minutes. I have a solution to this problem–if I must read, I last the 10 minutes, put it down, and whenever the hell I can pick it up again, I will. If I mustn’t, then I won’t torture myself. Strange thing is, I never had a diagnosis for ADD, so the only other explanation to this is my mood disorder.

5) Pack Rat?
I can explain this in one sentence. You may never know when you’ll need that extra something that someone else thinks you don’t need.

6) Lyrical?
When I was younger, I would make up lyrics to songs on video games. They were really silly songs that made absolutely no sense. Now, I still do it to an extent, but now they’re more coherent. I guess I was just destined to go into performing arts. Maybe. I haven’t gotten around to that.

In other news, I got the job. But they wanted a $146 deposit, which I don’t have. I mean, I did fork over $78 that I had to charge on a credit card. So I can’t take it. Luckily for me, I have loads of support, so I’m not completely SOL yet.

What kind of job asks you to pay them in order to work?

Sounds like a scam to me.

I am also a pack rat :P

Ahh… the jobs that makes you pay first for a “greater” return never usually happens unless you know how to turn the tables around.

Hoi Thar.

Crestfallen is the 3.5-year-old site of a sarcastic 20-something natural-born New Yorker/California implant who goes by the name Nat Marie most days, but answers to many other things, including Shadow, Chickenhead, and "Hey Bitch!". She has a love for writing, performing arts, and cats (albeit allergic to them). You will find love, life, and a lot of writing and sarcasm sprinkled in. Enjoy.
